what engines are these guys running?

Surely these aren't the 1.3-1.6 engines with giant turbos on them?? Those are some angry squirrels under the hoods of these things. bad little mamba jambas!!!!!

I looked one of them up. The blue one with the yellow cage (Billy Tech) and it has a Toyota 1.6. Puttin down 500 hp

Several years ago there was an article I read somewhere, about the Chile Challenge, they were running WRX motors in their Sami's. I haven't found anything since. Haven't really looked either.
